Curtis Granderson will be playing for team USA in the World Baseball Classic and Justin Verlander will not. It is completely selfish to say this, but I would prefer Verlander’s workload be monitored by the Tigers this spring rather than the very competitive WBC. Consider this a win-win for the Tigers.
