Faces in the Crowd: Denard Robinson

Denard Robinson appeared in Sports Illustrated’s Faces in the Crowd feature in the May 25th, 2009 issue. Robinson, a 4 star QB prospect, will compete for the open starting QB job at Michigan when fall practice commences. In addition to being a standout on the gridiron Robinson is a star on the track.That 4×100 team that produced the second highest time in the nation featured another member of Michigan’s incoming freshmen class, Adrian Witty a defensive back. The pair will inject some serious speed into the Wolverines attack. Robinson’s 100 meter time was 10.56 and he ran a 21.89 in the 200 meters.

Beilein to work with USA Basketball

University of Michigan men’s basketball coach John Beilein has been selected to serve as one of six court coaches for USA Basketball’s Under 19 World Championship and World University Games team trial.Pittsburgh’s Jamie Dixon was named as the teams head coach and he will be assisted by Matt Painter (Purdue) and Chris Lowery (Southern Illinois).

Jordan Paskorz commits to Michigan

On Wednesday afternoon Michigan picked up a commitment from defensive end Jordan Paskorz out of Allison Park, Pennsylvania. Paskorz is a 6-3, 225 pound prospect out of the keystone state. He is going to play a hybrid defensive end/outside linebacker position known as the “Quick” in new defensive coordinator Greg Robinson’s scheme.
