Heading into his senior season, 2012 PG Trey Dickerson is excited about what the future holds.
“It’s exciting.” Dickerson said. “I just want to see where I end up and where I’m going to play my next few years at in college.”
The former Montclair Prep (CA) standout will be enrolling at Price High School (CA) for his finals season, after Montclair decided to cut its athletic programs, and his sights are set high.
“My senior season I’m at Price High School, I’m just trying to take our team to a state championship and have a great season.”
As far as recruiting goes, Dickerson is receiving interest from San Diego State, Washington, Iowa, West Virginia, Houston, Texas Tech, Siena, Loyola and Missouri. When asked who was recruiting him the hardest he answered “San Diego State and Iowa.”
Though there is no clear cut favorite yet, it looks as if that hard work is paying off, as Dickerson lists SDSU as one of the schools he plans to pay a visit.
“I’m supposed to visit San Diego State soon, supposed to go up there this September on an unofficial.” He said of his upcoming visits. “I might take a visit to Washington, and some schools are coming to see me at my school for open gym September 9th and 10th.”
Dickerson also talked about what he felt he could bring to a college and the qualities he is looking for in the school of his choice.
“I can bring another floor general, another leader, I can help the team out in scoring or assists and I can bring that New York City swagger!” he said laughing.
“[I’d like] a school that runs an up-and-down kind of system, get-it-and-go, a good education, and a great coaching staff.
That system would indeed suit Dickerson’s playing style well as he mentions.
“I’m a fast guard I like to get up and down, run the break, get my teammates involved, I like to finish, I compare my game to Russell Westbrook. We can both shoot a little, we’re both explosive and both fast.” Dickerson said.
So when can we expect a commitment from the rising star?
“I will probably make my decision early spring in the signing period.” Dickerson said.
Thanks for the interview Trey!
