Philadelphia Eagles Bye Week Special

TGIBW- Thank God it’s bye week. Yes, I know us Eagles fans want to see the birds play every weekend, but this bye week could not come at a better time. The Eagles have been battered and beaten in four of the first six games they have played. Most of those losses have been a direct result of their own mistakes. Turnovers, missed tackles, blown assignments, and sometimes a lack of effort has doomed this team so far this season.

This bye week is perfect because the Eagles are fresh off a win over the Washington Redskins. This gives them momentum and hope that they can turn this season around. Andy Reid has given the players the entire week off to rest up and come back healthy and ready to play. This is a strategy he has used in the past. It has proven to work because the Eagles are 12-0 after the bye week under Reid.

Next week’s game against the dreaded Dallas Cowboys will hold the same weight as last week’s game against the Redskins. If the Eagles lose, their season is effectively over. If they win, they are one step closer to jumping back into the division race.

As part of the bye week special, here are some games that matter for the Eagles I also put in my predictions.

Redskins vs. Panthers:

The Rex Grossman experiment is over. The Redskins have decided to start John Beck. Meanwhile, Cam Newton continues to impress. Las Vegas has the Panthers as 2.5 point favorites, and I’m going to agree and pick the Panthers 23-17.

Cowboys vs. Rams

The Cowboys are having trouble offensively, but the Rams are just dreadful. Cowboys win 20-10.

Falcons vs. Lions

This game holds weight for the Eagles Wild Card chances. The Lions will come in hungry and looking for blood after last week’s loss to San Francisco. I’m picking the Lions 24-20

Buccaneers vs. Bears

The Bucs are playing good football right now and have the Bears at home. I’m picking the Buccaneers in this one 27-17
