Could Troy Williams be the next big 2013 pick up for UNC?
If you want to see how excited 2013 small forward Troy Williams got when he was offered by North Carolina just check out below the tweet he sent out to all of his friends. The 6’6″ 190 pound forward, nephew to Boo Williams, is in the ESPN’s Top 10 for his class as five star recruit. He is also listed as a five star recruit by Scout, while the other nationally known web site, Rivals, has him as a four star recruit. Carolina already has two other top players from this class already committed, however getting Williams is all but guaranteed right now as programs like Kentucky, Florida and Texas are in the mix for him.
I am not sure if this is going to affect his recruiting, but you have to wonder when reading about who his favorite head coach is…
As far as knowing where the young man is going to end up? We will have to wait until this summer, when he will give his final decision, until then anyone can guess (or hope), but no one will know for sure. With an uncle like Boo Williams I am sure that the small forward will weigh all of his options carefully before saying where he ends up. And by the same theory, with an uncle like his, I am sure that wherever Troy ends up the coaching staff is going to get his full committment from day one.
