North Carolina Basketball: Zeller and Marshall choose Agent

From a small blog post from ESPN comes word that both Tyler Zeller, who yesterday did whirlwind tour with the World Leader in Sports, and Kendall Marshall have hired an agent. Zeller, who was the ACC Player of the Year, has hired Jeff Schwartz from Excel Sports Management, while Marshall, who won the Bob Cousy Award for best point guard in the nation, went with Octagon. The other two Tar Heels headed to the draft, John Henson and Harrison Barnes, have not yet made their decision on who they will take as their agent.

Zeller, who was on with Doug Gottlieb and Scott Van Pelt plus did an online chat but in my opinion had his best moment when on ESPN2’s SportsNation. There the seven footer talked very frankly about Larry Drew II’s departure from North Carolina and said that the team joked and called LD II the “black cloud”. It was great how he said it without sounding mean about it, but very sincere at the same time.

Like it or not when blogging about these young men, who are all going to be playing at the next level in the upcoming season, it’s hard to watch them move on. But on the other hand, it’s great to see someone like Zeller rappresent Carolina so well, as I am sure so will Marshall, Henson and Barnes. It’s also great for them to make it to the next level, where I am pretty sure all will do well. As I said once before on this site, as well as many times on twitter and FaceBook, to all of them congratulations and good luck in the NBA.
