North Carolina Football: ACC announces times for early part of the season

The official web site of the Atlantic Coast Conference has announced the times for the first couple of weeks of the 2012 Football season. For the Tar Heels fan base than means they will know when the home opener, scheduled for September 1st, versus Elon will start as well as the road game against Wake Forest. Especially since this is the beginning of a new regime in Chapel Hill anytime I get a small tidbit about the gridiron I begin my mental countdown to the beginning of the pre-season.

The game against Elon, which will be played at Kenan Stadium and will be the first official game under new head coach Larry Fedora, is scheduled to start at 12:30 p.m. EST and will be televised by the ACC Network. The game the following week, to be played against the Demon Deacons at BB&T Field, will have a start time of 3:00 p.m. EST and will be televised by Regional Sports Networks. Finally, the third game on the schedule, the Sept. 15th match up at Louisville does not have a time yet determined, but will be televised by either ABC, ESPN or ESPN2.

Finally one last game has been already penciled in for the Tar Heels, their November 15th road game against Virginia, which will kick off at 7:30 p.m. EST and will be broadcast by ESPN. As more of the times for the games come out I will make sure to post them on the site. Until then make sure you check out the partial schedule that TheACC.com has put out as of now.
