Michigan Football picked up a commitment from Scott Sypniewski (Ottawa, Illinois) on Wednesday. He is one of the premiere long snappers in the country. He is a student of the Rubio long snapping school and was recently ranked the #2 long snapper in the country.
Michigan’s special teams coach Dan Ferrigno extended the scholarship offer and Sypniewski immediately accepted. Long snapping is one of those underrated facets of a football team. When everything is going right with it, nobody really notices. However, if the snaps start sailing and wreaking havoc, everybody knows who the long snapper is.
The 6-foot-1, 230 pound Sypniewski is a hard-working, poised recruit. An excerpt from his Rubio long snapping bio says, Ball is like a missle yet very easy to catch. Movement is flawless and he is snapping with ease. Looks like he is not even trying but, before you blink, the ball is right on your hip. Accuracy, consistency and speed are all excellent.
Sypniewski is commit #21 for the Wolverines and that means additional spots in this recruiting class are becoming scarce. Below is a complete look at Michigan’s 2013 commit list.
