The Toronto Blue Jays may have lost one of their starting pitchers for rest of the season. Kyle Drabek will undergo his second Tommy John surgery of his career on Tuesday. Although Jay’s manager, John Farrell didn’t say that Drabek’s season was over, he did hinted in an article on the team’s website that it (his season) most likely is because of length of time (usually a year) it takes to recover from this type of surgery.

This is not good for the Jays, now two key starters are on the disabled list, considering the team is in a division with power houses like the New York Yankees and the the Boston Red Sox. Not to mention a pretty good Tampa Bay team.
Fortunately, the Jays are still in inter league play right now and don’t have face these teams at the moment.
On Monday, they kicked off a three game series against the Brewers in Milwaukee.
The very first batter, Brett Lawrie hit a solo home run to give the Jays a 1-0 lead, but it was short lived, though.
In the bottom the first inning, Rickie Weeks put the Brewers ahead 2-1 when he drove in Nyjer Morgan and Ryan Braun with a single.
The Brewers scored four more runs in the bottom of the second inning to make it 6-1.
At the top of the sixth inning, down 6-2, Edwin Encarnacion hit a solo home run to cut Milwaukee’s lead to three runs.
The very next inning, with two on base, Jose Bautista tied it with a home run.
Milwaukee scored, what would be the winning run, when the umpires overturned a foul call and awarded Aramis Remirez with a solo home run after video review.
In the ninth inning. the Blue Jays went down one, two, three, and lost 7-6.
Jay’s starting pitcher, Henderson Alvarez did not have a good night on the mound. He gave up 11 hits, six earned runs, two walks and struck out one batter in four innings pitched.
The second game of the series was a wild one.
There was no scoring until the third inning when Brett Lawrie hit a two run homer.
In the bottom of the inning, though, the Brewers scored four runs, including two that were scored on bases loaded walks.
At the top of the sixth inning, Colby Rasmus, Jose Bautista, and Edwin Encarnacion all hit solo home runs one right after another. J.P. Arencibia made it 6-4 by driving in Yunel Escobar with a single, but the Brewers didn’t give up.
In the bottom of the inning, The Brewers scored on another bases loaded walk, their third of the game.
Then Aramis Remirez hit a grand slam to make it 9-6.
At this point I thought it was over for the Jays. Not so.
The Blue Jays scored two more runs in the seventh inning to make it a one run game.
Then in the ninth inning, the Jays took the lead for good when both Rasmus and Bautista hit their second home run in the game.
The Jays closed out the series against the Brewers by losing 8-3 on Wednesday afternoon.
The Blue Jays head off to Miami where they will face the Marlins this weekend.
