Michigan Football Recruiting Update: Channing Stribling commitment

Channing Stribling Michigan

Channing Stribling

Michigan Football’s 2013 class is nearing capacity and on Thursday they picked up a commitment from Channing Stribling (Mathews, North Carolina). He might be under the radar of most of the recruiting services, but he is a great addition to the Wolverines elite recruiting class. Stribling earned his offer after an outstanding showing at Michigan’s camp this week.

Checking in at 6-foot-2, 170 pounds, Stribling plays receiver and cornerback for Butler High School. As a junior he corralled 35 passes for 635 yards and 8 TDs. On defense he snagged 6 interceptions, broke up 14 passes and registered 35 tackles. Michigan is recruiting him to play safety and follow in the footsteps of fellow Butler alum, Jamar Adams (2004-07).

Stribling becomes commit #22 for Michigan in the class of 2013. He joins Dymonte Thomas (Alliance, Ohio) as the only other safety prospect in the class. The Wolverines also have 2 cornerbacks in the class; Jourdan Lewis (Detroit, Michigan) and Gareon Conley (Massillon, Ohio). You can see Michigan’s complete list of 2013 commits below.
