Michigan Football quarterback Denard Robinson was in New York this weekend and had a little fun at Citi Field. According to the below tweet from Michigan AD David Brandon, Robinson was in the Big Apple to speak to 600 8th graders.

Mets owner Fred Wilpon is a Michigan graduate (1958) and he showed Robinson around Citi Field. Robinson swapped jerseys with Mets 3B David Wright which made for a great photo.

Robinson is nothing short of a rockstar. When Michigan Basketball played host to and defeated Ohio State this past season, the game was on ESPN. Robinson was embedded with the Maize Rage and having a great time. From my perch on press row I was able to observe Robinson have his picture taken with Erin Andrews. When the photo op was over, Andrews pulled a camera out of her pocket and had a photo taken for her personal collection. On that night I saw countless people, including Michigan recruit Shane Morris, get their picture taken with Erin Andrews. The only time she pulled a camera out of her pocket, for an extra photo, was during the encounter with Denard Robinson. Our Michigan Basketball photographer, Todd White, was on hand to capture that moment.
When President Barack Obama was on campus to deliver a speech on the affordability of college, he asked one question of the audience - ”Where’s Denard? I thought I read that he was in the house.” Then a student shouted “Denard for president.” Obama perhaps a little worried about running against the charismatic QB, replied: “He’s got to graduate before he runs for president. There’s an age limit.”
President Obama then said, “It’s good to be in the home of the Sugar Bowl champions. And with Denard coming back, it will be a team to be reckoned with.”
The electrifying QB is entering his senior campaign and it figures to be a special one. He will have a unique opportunity to showcase his talents on September 1st, when Michigan opens the season against the defending national champions from Alabama. Rewind to 2009 when Robinson was on a recruiting visit to Michigan. The below photo was snapped of Robinson gazing at Tom Harmon’s Heisman Trophy. Was that moment a foreshadowing of a Heisman in Denard Robinson’s future?
There is no doubt that Robinson would love to become Michigan’s 4th Heisman Trophy winner. However, a Big Ten Championship is the prize he has set his sights set on. Robinson is the ultimate teammate, always praising his linemen, receivers or backs. He is the unquestioned leader of Team 133 and is on the brink of what could be a season for the ages.
Once the dust settles on the 2012 season, where do you think Robinson will land on this list – Michigan Football’s All-Time Best Quarterbacks

I think he wanted his picture taken with her.
Nicely done. The Mets jersey looks good on him. No matter how he finishes his career, his mark on Michigan will last an eternity. Pretty impressive.
