A little over two months remain until Spartan fans arrive in East Lansing for the matchup between Michigan State and Boise State on Friday, August 31st. On top of the excitement of experiencing a game under the lights, it also will be the first for many to see the brand new scoreboards.
There has been much progress made to Spartan Stadium within the last month, including the first stepping stones of the 5,300 square foot scoreboard that will be above the south end zone.
The two scoreboards on the north side, both measuring 52 1/2 x 31 1/2 feet, are close to being finalized. A 450-foot ribbon board will be placed between the two, running along the top of the bleachers.
In total, the scoreboards will cover about 13,500 square feet, which sixth-year head coach Mark Dantonio emphasized will be the “largest in the state.”
