The Michigan Basketball team just completed their first week of summer workouts. This includes the incoming freshmen class who have arrived on campus and are already impressing the coaching staff.

Bacari Alexander, who is legendary for his tweet blitzes, noted on his twitter account that the veterans have embraced the freshmen. He also pointed out that the newcomers are quick learners.
Michigan’s incoming freshmen class consists of; Glenn “Tre” Robinson III, Mitch McGary, Nik Stauskus, Michael “Spike” Albrecht and Caris LeVert.
With the graduations of Zack Novak and Stu Douglass, combined with the transfer of Evan Smotrycz, there is a great opportunity for this freshmen class to make an immediate impact. In the movie Miracle, Herb Brooks, played by Kurt Russell, tells his team before their monumental upset of the Soviet Union, “Great moments are born from great opportunity and that’s what you have here.” That is also what the incoming freshmen have at Michigan.
The great opportunity is the minutes that were logged by Novak (33.7), Douglass (30.5) and Smotrycz (21.1) w ill have to be played by somebody else. The 3 most likely candidates to fill those precious minutes are Robinson, McGary and Stauskus. All three of which will add length and athleticism to Michigan’s rotation.
The great opportunity also consists of the returning players, including what will be considered one of the top back courts in the nation with Trey Burke (Sophomore) and Tim Hardaway Jr. (Junior). The Wolverines also return the backboard rattler, otherwise known as Jordan Morgan. Additionally they get longer and tougher with the return from injury of Jon Horford and they have two sweet shooting seniors in Matt Vogrich and Blake McLimans.
It will be fascinating to see how the starting 5 shakes out, but here is an early guess
PG: Trey Burke
SG: Tim Hardaway Jr.
SF: Glenn “Tre” Robinson III
PF: Jordan Morgan
C: Mitch McGary
I expect we will see a lot of Jon Horford and Nik Stauskus as well as increased minutes from Matt Vogrich.
In other news it was reported on twitter yesterday by Nik Stauskus, Tre Robinson, and Caris LeVert that Mitch McGary ate a cockroach. This is something we will definitely have to ask Mitch about.
Yooooo my boy @mitchmcgary4 just ate a COCKROACH..this is crazy! #Wow
