Before I get to anything else, I have a trade to inform you about. The Toronto Blue Jays have sent Travis Snider to Pittsburgh for pitcher Brad Lincoln Monday night. They also sent Eric Thames to Seattle (which happens to be the team they were playing against on Monday night) for pitcher, Steve Delabar. What Do I think of this trade? Well, I think it was a good move. The Jays are getting rid of two players who have been in and out of the Minor Leagues over the past year or so. On the other side of things, they’re getting relief pitchers that they desperately need right now.

Speaking of pitching, Ricky Romero lost another one on Monday night and now has a 8-8 record as his team went on to lose to the Mariners 4-1. Romero gave up eight hits,three earned runs, two walks, and struck out seven batters in six innings pitched.
The second game of the series on Tuesday was just as bad for the Jays as they got creamed 7-2. Starting pitcher, Aaron Laffey did not have a good night on the mound. He gave up nine hits, seven earned runs, two walks, and struck out no batters in 4.2 innings pitched.
Trayvon Robinson provided most of the offense for the Mariners, going two for three at the plate, scoring two runs, and racked up two RBIs.
Colby Rasmus hit the first pitch thrown to him in the first inning of the final game against the Mariners on Wednesday night.
There was no scoring until the top of the fourth inning when Kelly Johnson hit a solo home run to make it 2-0 Jays.
Jays starting pitcher, Carlos Villanueva started the game by retiring nine batters in a row until he gave up a single to Dustin Ackley in the bottom of the fourth inning
The Mariners got one run back in the later in the inning when Ackley scored on a routine double play by Jesus Montero.
Jeff Mathis put the Jays up by two runs again in the fifth inning when he drove in David Cooper with a sacrifice fly and then the wheels came off.
Former Jay, Eric Thames hit a two run homer to tie it 3-3. How ironic. Despite the home run Thames hit against his former team on Wednesday night, I’m still glad they got rid of him. He certainly weren’t playing this way at the beginning of the season. That’s why he was sent down to the Minor Leagues a few months back.
John Jaso then drove in Michael Saunders with a single in the sixth inning.
Ackley put the final nail in the coffin for the Blue Jays as he drove in Brendan Ryan with a single in the seventh inning.
Jays lose the game 5-3 and Villueva suffers his first lost of the season. He now has a record of 6-1.
The Jays are now in Oakland where they will face the Athletics for four games on the weekend.
