Last Saturday North Carolina football fans all over got a taste of the new regime in Chapel Hill, as head coach Larry Fedora brought in the new look offense and defense to Chapel Hill as the Carolina took care of Elon in a 62 to nothing shut out. Tonight, the Carolina fan base gets to see some of the former UNC players in action as the National Football League gets under way with its first game of the season. It is great that the match up will be on NBC so that will be able to enjoy it, it is even better that both of the teams will have a pair of former Heel on their rosters that should see plenty of playing time. Using the list on the UNC Pros web site and the team rosters from OurLads, as well as adding a bit of information on my own, here are all the players that once called Chapel Hill home that their NFL teams will be playing today…

And there you have it, the game on tap for today, September 5, 2012, which has a touch of carolina blue in it. Now that the regular season has begun the bulk of the games will be on Sunday afternoon, and I will divide those into two posts this season. Make sure to come back each day to see which other former UNC player will be on the field in the following days. And of course, for all information when it comes to North Carolina football and/or basketball (present and past) make sure to check back on isportsweb!
