North Carolina Football: Heels in the Pro’s recap (Sept 10, 2012)

After the doubleheader that ESPN had last night we can close out the first week of pro football. Plenty of former North Carolina football players were in action during the first week of the NFL, while an extra has been picked up right after the end of the week by the Buffalo Bills. In this post we are going to check out what the two former Tar Heels did in the Monday Night double header on Monday, September 10, 2012, as well as seeing who is the former Heel being picked up. Without further ado here are the two games from yesterday…

For the Cincinnati Bengals…

Meanwhile, as I said above, running back Johnny White, who was drafted by the Bills in the fifth round last season has been signed by Buffalo to its 53 man roster after he had been released at the end of last month. This comes on (no pun intended) the heel of the season ending injury to wide out David Nelson. White played in a dozen games for the Bills last season.

And that is it for the games on the first weekend of NFL for the 2012 season. Between these two games and the ones played previously there were fourteen games that featured a former Tar Heel on at least one of the two rosters, several with former UNC on both! With so many former North Carolina football players now at the next level there chance is that if you root for an NFL squad you are doing for one that has a former Heel on it.
