UNC Basketball: Q&A’s with Rey Moralde

After 14 seasons in the league Jamison is with the Lakers. Can he be the missing link for them?

As I keep up with my search to get with as many bloggers that follow former UNC basketball players at the next level I was able to get a hold of Rey Moralde (@TheNoLookPass on twitter), founder of the The No Look Pass web site, which also has a FaceBook page. Moralde is also part of many other internet sites having to do with the Lakers, including the Forum Blue and Gold (part of ESPN’s TrueHoop Network), where he is a contributor. On Rey-Rey’s twitter account it says that he once sat next to Jessica Alba and she did not punch him in the face. Well, I am proud to report that I asked him several questions and he did not punch me either…

Alex: Give me one word to describe Antawn Jamison…

Rey-Rey: Talkative!

Alex: Give me one sentence to describe the 14 year veteran…

Rey-Rey: Antawn is a very insightful person.

Alex: What do you think will be the role that Jamison will have with the Lakers…

Rey-Rey: He’ll be the Lakers’ scorer off the bench. Something that was badly needed last year.

Alex: What would you like to see more out of Jamison this season…

Rey-Rey: Effort on defense.

Alex: And of course, what would you like to see less out of the power forward this year…

Rey-Rey: Well, I want to see less of him giving up on D. Yes, I am very afraid of Jamison’s D even if Dwight Howard may be able to assuage my fears.

Alex: If you had to guess what do you see Antawn Jamison having as far as points and rebounds this season…

Rey-Rey: I see him maybe averaging 9 points and 4 boards off the bench.

Alex: Where do you see the Lakers ending up when it’s all said and done in the 2012-13 campaign…

Rey-Rey: I expect the Lakers to win the title. Anything less is a disappointment.

All I can do is to thank Rey Moralde for this Q&A about the newest Laker power forward, Antawn Jamison. For all of you that do follow the former North Carolina basketball players at the next level make sure to follow Rey on twitter and to check his web site frequently for all the information about the Lakers and of course Jamison. And of course for more information about North Carolina basketball and/or football make sure to come back often to isportsweb!

And of course, being that this is a UNC blog, let’s relive one of the great moments in Jamison’s Tar Heel career. It was 1998, #1 Duke came to Chapel Hill to play #UNC, and as they say in show biz: the rest is history…
