Michigan State Football: Cooler heads prevail at the end of Michigan vs. Michigan State game

At the end of Michigan’s 12-10 victory over the Spartans, Michigan players were found taunting MSU players after winning their first game against the Spartans in five years.

In the video below, by isportsweb’s David Harns, you can see a little bit of the mayhem that went on after the game followed by the handshakes after referees were breaking up the two teams…

I’m sure the Wolverines won’t receive any backlash publicly for their actions. It’s clear that the media plays favorites when it comes to sports and they try to control who the “good” and “bad” guys are.

When Michigan State players were tweeting about Denard Robinson earlier in the season it was all over every media outlet you can find. In this case, since Michigan did something wrong they’re going to sweep it under the rug.

Clearly Michigan has been portrayed as the “good” guy for many years, and it’s something that can’t be excused any longer.

The Wolverines sportsmanship after the game is inexcusable, and to celebrate in such a disrespectful manner after winning one game in five years against your supposed “Little Brother” goes to show how the “Little Brother” is bigger than the older sibling in more ways than one.

Also, let’s not excuse the Michigan fans actions as they stormed the field while the Michigan State band was getting ready to perform.

  1. I’m willing to believe that a few Michigan players acted like knuckleheads after the game–with the history between the teams–but I see NOTHING in this video to suggest it. If you want to be taken seriously you should at least do yourself a favor and narrate the video a little, tell us what to look for. We’ve watched the videos of your guys trying to rip Denard’s head off, by the way; if there’s something comparable to that or Rather Hall on the Michigan side, please point us to it. We don’t want to bury our heads in the sand.

  2. Video looks civil to me.

Thank you for the article and the video, I needed a good laugh this morning. 4 in a row just wasn’t enough eh? Get a helmet sparty because its going to be a bumpy, bumpy, ride.

  4. If you watch the video you briefly see the end of the taunting from U of M players. You see the refs running to break the players up as they ran to the MSU sideline after the game. It’s poor sportsmanship to run to the other teams sideline, you meet at the 50. You can hear Michigan players saying something, and clearly the fans ran on the field as the band was getting ready to perform. Also, LSJ writer Graham Couch said he saw at least five Michigan players taunting. A win against a 4-4 team doesn’t call for poor sportsmanship. No matter who the team is.

Of course, your loyalty to sparty would shine through in your story.

    68-31-5 Michigan over MSU
    900 WINS in college football

So who cares if we are 1-4 for last 5 years? We have Brady Hoke (for God’s sake) and he recruited Shane Morris & David Dawson to wear the winged helmut next year so turn out the light your spartys over.

    Hail to The Victors!!!

  6. James, I checked this out and read your article. I was waiting to see or read something to back up what you’re saying. What is it? What am I missing? I’m all ears/eyes on this one but you gotta tell me what you’re talking about.

  7. TrueBlueMoFo says:

I love it when idiot sparty fans let everyone know how butthurt and petty they are when things don’t go their way. Nice job embarrassing yourself for all to see, Dumbass! Hahaha!

  8. wolverine58 says:

AHHHHH POOR BABIES LOL michigan making LOSERS out of Spartans since 1898

  9. Mark Dantonio says:

Am I missing something? That video shows nothing. Good try though.

  10. Geoffrey Chiles says:

Michigan broke a four-year losing streak, and recorded all-time win #900. I think the students definitely have the option to celebrate and storm the field. And you’re worried about MSU’s band performing? (They weren’t even actually “performing” yet.) I bet I can count on one hand the number of people for whom that was a major priority as they were filing out.

  11. I was on the field at the end of the game and did not see anything outrageous. There were a couple of players chirping at each other, but it certainly wasn’t one-sided. Other than that I saw a lot of hugs and handshakes between the two teams.
I think you are blowing this out of proportion.

  12. You do realize that your video shows nothing to incriminate either side, right? WHat exactly are you claiming that it shows?
