Heels in the Pro’s – 10/22/12

As we enter the last five days of the National Basketball Association pre-season we have six games on the slate for 10/22/12. Of those all of them have former UNC basketball in action, one with former Tar Heels on both benches, which means it’s once again time for another edition of Heels in the Pro’s NBA Style. While most of the players that once called Chapel Hill home played, some did not, so let’s check out all the action for October 22, 2012…

The first game of the night is the one with a former UNC basketball player on each squad as the Milwaukee Bucks [Eastern Conference ~ Central Division] (2-3 in the pre-season) go north of the border to take on the Toronto Raptors [Eastern Conference ~ Atlantic Division] (4-1 in the pre-season) for the only match up between these franchises in the pre-season. The game, which was played at the Air Canada Centre in front of 11,364 (max capacity: 19,800), lasted close to 2 hours and a quarter. For the visiting squad it’s power forward John Henson (@_John_Henson_ on twitter), who was at the game but did not see any action… “DNP ~ Coach’s Decision”. On the other side, it’s another power forward, Ed Davis (@eddavis32 on twitter), who comes off the pine for the Raptors and plays a total of 13 minutes. In that time frame the 6’10″ forward gets two points (1 for 2 ~ 0 for 0 ~ 0 for 0) to go with five rebounds, an assist and a points differential of +7. In the end, as far as the game went, it was Toronto defeating Milwaukee by nine points, with the final being 104 to 95. With the win the Raptors are now 5 and 1 in the pre-season (5-0 at home) and will play their last game before the regular season on 10/26 at the Grizzlies. The loss slides the Bucks to 2 and 4 in the pre-season and will try to turn it around in their second to last game as they host the Bobcats on 10/25.
