The Detroit Lions dropped Monday night’s game to the Chicago Bears by the score of 13-7, solidifying the fact that their offense is in shambles.
Quarterback Matthew Stafford couldn’t get time in the pocket, and even when he did get protection, he made errant, off-balance throws.
Even star wideout Calvin Johnson had his blunders, dropping two passes early on that seemed to set the tone for Detroit’s offense.
Here’s the bottom line: The defense has played well, the offense has been dismal. The Lions fumbled six times in this game, losing three of them, which clearly cost them a shot to win this game.
The facts are in, and teams that manage to score only seven points in a game, lose. I’d guess 99 percent of the time.
Facing a tough Seattle defense this week at Ford Field, it’s time for Stafford and Johnson to earn those big contracts and win the game for Detroit.
