Michigan already has a commitment from the #1 cornerback in the nation, Jabrill Peppers, and now they are making a run at the #2 ranked cornerback in the nation, Adoree Jackson (Gardena, California). Almost immediately upon committing, Peppers, who is ranked #2 overall by rivals and espn, began making overtures to Jackson on Twitter.
Jackson, who originally hails from Illinois, has a shared interest in the Wolverines. On Sunday night, he released his top 10 schools. The list consisted of Florida, Florida State, Illinois, LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, Tennessee, UCLA and USC. “For me with Michigan, it’s close to home, a great program with tradition,” Jackson told espn. “I know about them from being in Illinois. You know the Big Ten, with Michigan and Ohio State. And they produce good players as well.”
Adoree Jackson is an elite athlete
The 5-foot-10, 180 pound Adoree Jackson is also a track standout. He recently soared a preposterous 25 feet in the long jump and anchored the fastest 4×400 relay team in the state of California this year — and the fourth fastest in the country.
As a junior, Jackson tallied 56 tackles and 5 interceptions for Junipero Serra High School. He also hauled in 33 passes for 546 yards and 5 touchdowns. He’s a 5-star prospect and is ranked as the 5th best player in the country by ESPN. Here is an excerpt of his scouting report on ESPN.
Has modest size but excellent speed and burst. A fast-twitched athlete who goes 0-to-60 in a hurry…One of the more explosive and electric athletes in this class, Jackson comes from a program that has produced its share of playmakers, including USC standout Marqise Lee and Jackson is cut in that same mold. De’Anthony Thomas type of skill set on offense and would likely be used in a similar role if he plays on that side of the ball.
