Michigan Basketball’s 2013-14 schedule is starting to take shape. The Wolverines will be participating in the Puerto Rico Tip Off and the bracket for that event has now been revealed.
Puerto Rico Tip Off
11/21: Michigan will play Long Beach State. The 49ers are coached by Dan Monson and the program is in a bit of disarray with multiple players having been dismissed from the team this spring.
11/22: With a win, Michigan will play the winner of Florida State vs VCU. With a loss they will play the loser of that game. Of course the folks who made this bracket are hoping for a Michigan vs VCU rematch. The Wolverines destroyed VCU in the NCAA Tournament and redo of that game would be very intriguing.
11/24: If Michigan can get through the first two days unscathed, they would play in the Championship. The likely opponent would be Georgetown. Although Kansas State is also on the other side of the bracket.
12/3: Michigan will play at Duke as part of the Big Ten/ACC Challenge
12/14: Michigan will host Arizona
12/21: Michigan will play Stanford at the Barclays Center in New York
TBD: Michigan will play at Iowa State
Big Ten one plays
Michigan will play the following Big Ten teams once; Ohio State (road), Illinois (road), Northwestern (home), Penn State (home)
Projected starting five
Here’s a guess at Michigan’s starting five when they begin the season.
PG: Derrick Walton
SG: Nik Stauskas
SF: Glenn Robinson III
PF: Mitch McGary
C: Jordan Morgan
Key reserves: Spike Albrecht, Jon Horford, Zak Irvin, Caris LeVert, and Mark Donnal.
It should be another fun season for Michigan Basketball. They figure to be in the thick of the Big Ten race and have the potential to make another deep tournament run.
