Denver Broncos’ Ryan Clady returns to first-team drills

It has been a hectic week. That being said, I have had a couple stories slip through the cracks on me. Though with not much happening in Denver, they are pretty easy to find.

On Saturday, left tackle Ryan Clady joined the team for full-time drills. This was the first snap Clady has taken since January, after undergoing shoulder surgery after last season. The Denver Broncos are hoping Clady will be healthy and can return by the regular season opener on September 5th against Baltimore.

“We’re obviously taking that slow and trying to be as smart as possible, while still getting Ryan ready for the season opener,” head coach John Fox said. “At this stage, I think everything is on target.”

Clady has not missed a regular season start for the Broncos since they drafted him in 2008, however he did miss all of the preseason games back in 2010 due to a knee injury, where then the Broncos had to rush him to get him ready for the opener. Offensive coordinator Adam Gase pointed out that physically, Clady is further ahead now in his return to football, then he was in 2010.

Clady was re-signed to a new 5-year-contract last month worth $52.5 million, and $33 million guaranteed, though since camp has began, Clady has only been able to participate in individual and offensive line position drills, according to usatoday.com.

Another thing that seemed to evade my attention until this past weekend was Peyton Manning’s, and brother Eli’s, new rap video. That’s right, a rap video promoting DirecTv’s “football on your phone,” or for short, F.O.Y.P. Two things: it is not lyrically the greatest, and I usually hate having to insert videos into my articles to tell the story. However, that is the only way to share with you all the ridiculous nature, clothing, and hairstyles of Eli and Peyton. So until next time, enjoy! Football On Your Phone
