Bama fans, meet the latest commitment, 4-star receiver Cameron Sims.
The 6’4″ 200 pound senior officially announced his decision live on ESPNU Saturday. The choice was between the Tide, Ole Miss, Oklahoma State, Southern Mississippi and Southern University – where his parents went to school. But in the end, Sims silenced other school’s siren songs with a simple placing of a Bama cap on his head and a big grin.
The Monroe Louisiana native had an impressive junior season last year, posting 39 receptions for 948 yards and 8 touchdowns. Hailing from Ouachita Parish High School, he averaged more than 24 yards per catch, and during his summer camp circuit Sims consistently posted a sub 4.6 second 40 yard dash time at each stop.
Sims is the 19th commitment for the class of 2014 and said some of the reasons he chose Alabama is because it felt like family and he got along with Nick Saban (for now he does at least).
