It’s that time of the year! Football fans ALL across the country can be their own coaches for NFL players. How can this happen? Well , there is only one reason: Fantasy Football.
For this edition, we will take a close look at how some of the Miami Dolphins players will enhance anyone’s fantasy team.
First up: quarterback Ryan Tannehill. Tannehill is coming off a mediocre rookie season. This year, the second-year QB’s numbers should improve due to the fact that he has more weapons, including Mike Wallace and Brandon Gibson. From a Fantasy standpoint, Tannehill would be a solid 2nd quarterback that may prove useful from time to time. If he is paired with a Peyton Manning or a Matt Ryan, watch out!
Next on the list is none other than Dolphins top free agent acquisition, Mike Wallace. Wallace will have plenty of balls thrown towards him this year. Plus, with the speed he has, explosive plays will happen. The only thing that I question about Wallace is his consistency. If he can develop consistency, he will definitely be a steal. In most fantasy drafts, Wallace will be a middle-of-the-pack receiver. Around that time of the draft, Wallace will either be a gem or bust, making him a high-risk, high-reward player.
Brian Hartline, the receiver on the other side, will be a solid pick. Last year, Hartline had a 1,000 yard receiving year. He will only have more chemistry with Tannehill as they enter their 2nd year as a tandem. In addition , now that Dustin Keller is gone for the year, Tannehill will be more dependant on Hartline.
Running back Lamar Miller will be electrifying to watch. He will be drafted around the middle of the pack , yet I predict he will be a 1,000-yard rusher. I suggest that every fantasy owner pick him up in the sixth or seventh round if he’s available.
Miami’s defense will be a solid one. While many people may not think so, Miami can and should be used as a first string defense. Miami has a defense that doesn’t force a lot of turnovers, but they do not give up many points either. As a fantasy owner, you will see little inconsistency with their defense. The y will always bring solid numbers when it comes to rush defense, and the pass defense won’t be too bad either.
The Dolphins hold some talent that fantasy players should take a close look at. Many of the players I mentioned in this article will go under the radar. Fantasy owners should really consider drafting these players onto their respective teams.
