As I wrote in my recap of the MTSU/UNC Football game there were many things that did not go quite right, but I am not here to rehash that, I am here to give you something that footballscoop.com thought was great when it comes to the game.
And that would be how North Carolina did its end zone in an argyle style, ranking it the fourth best stadium in America. Besides Kenan Stadium, another pair from the conference made the top ten… Clemson and Maryland. Of course if you want to lump in part-time member Notre Dame, it would give the ACC four of the “Top 10 field designs in college football” on the list.
Personally, while I do love the new end zone look at Kenan Stadium, the interlocking N and C have always been my favorite when it comes to the look of the field. And I have to say between this and the fact that the Tar Pit was named as one of the best sections it does prove that UNC Football could be just as good and popular as basketball if the fan base will cooperate!
Talking about UNC Football and its look… here is the helmet that the Tar Heels will be wearing against East Carolina (who is tops on the list of best fields) for Military Appreciation Day on September 28th (time tbd as of now). I find it fitting to add this as today is 9/11 and while this is a sports site, remembering those tragic events is not a bad thing at all.
