On Thursday, the 2014 Michigan State basketball recruiting scene received a major boost, with the commitment of four star point guard Lourawls “Tum Tum” Nairn.
Nairn, the 5-foot-11, 180-pound point guard out of Sunrise Christian Academy in Wichita, Kansas, commits to Michigan State over his other top three choices of Indiana, Minnesota, and Oklahoma.
It was a rather quick pickup for Michigan State head basketball coach Tom Izzo and his staff, who have really only been recruiting Nairn for the past few weeks after backing off of five star PG Tyus Jones and missing out on PG Tyler Ulis to Kentucky.
Nairn is the 61st ranked player in the 2014 class according to Scout.com, and is largely considered one of the fastest players in his class.
As the first 2014 player to commit to Michigan State, Nairn will likely help to fill a void at the point guard position after Keith Appling graduates this upcoming spring.
Here is a highlight video of Nairn in action.
