The Southern Miss football team’s struggles continued as they lost to the Boise State Broncos 60-7.
The offense started the game like a team who had an extra week to prepare but by the game’s end looked like the Eagles of weeks past. Two blocked field goals changed momentum, and not in Southern Miss’ favor. Once again turnovers haunted them; Allan Bridgford started the game well, but like many times before, inconsistency stalled promising drives.
The Golden Eagle defense forced Boise State into two three and outs early but with little help from the offense the defense was put behind the eight ball. Boise State quarterback Joe Southwick was pressured early and often by the front seven. Southwick still managed to finish 19 of 23 passing with 268 passing yards in three quarters of play.
