Michigan State has a lot of prospects they are after right now, and they made a few short lists. Being an elite program, Michigan State has some pretty top flight players they are after. Here are most of them:
Kevon Looney, Five Star, Power Forward, 6’9, Wisconsin
Looney is largely considered to be in the mold of a Kevin Durant. He’s a big man, but he can step out and hit perimeter shots. Looney is thought to be leaning towards Duke right now, but with Reid Travis who is a power forward as well with a Duke offer, Looney could wind up going to Michigan State if Travis goes to Duke and Duke decides to not bring in two power forwards in 2014, which most people, including myself believe they will not.
Short list: Duke, Michigan State, Tennessee
Predicted college choice: Duke (Michigan State if Reid Travis decides to go to Duke)
Trevon Bluiett, Four Star, Small Forward, 6’6, Indiana
Bluiett is a former UCLA commit. He’s rated as the 45th best prospect in the class of 2014. Bluiett is one of the best three point shooters in his class. Bluiett is visiting Michigan State today, and is considered to be a Michigan State lean at the moment.
Short list: Michigan State, Xavier, Butler, Memphis
Predicted college choice: Michigan State
Cliff Alexander, Five Star, Power Forward, 6’9, Illinois
Alexander is a top five prospect in the 2014 class. At a time, he was a Michigan State lean. Now he seems to be leaning toward Kansas. Alexander is a prototypical Tom Izzo big man. One that normally plays inside the paint, rebounds very well, and has a non-stop motor. He can also step out and shoot once in a while if needed.
Short list: Kansas, Illinois, Memphis, Michigan State, DePaul
Predicted college choice: Kansas
Devin Booker, Four Star, Shooting Guard, 6’6, Mississippi
Booker is originally from the state of Michigan, and recently moved to Mississippi. He has been difficult to read what his main college choices are until recent. His friend, Tyler Ulis recently committed to Kentucky. Booker is a playmaker and a player who is known for his offense and can drive to the basket, while being able to shoot well on the perimeter.
Short list: Kentucky, Michigan State, Michigan, Missouri, Florida
Predicted college choice: Kentucky
Javon Bess, Three Star, Small Forward, 6’5, Ohio
Bess is an off the radar recruit, but he has been overshadowed by the players he plays with. Michigan State is by far his biggest offer at the moment. He is known more for his defensive prowess. Remember Trey Burke? He was a three star recruit from Ohio too, while being overshadowed by Jared Sullinger in high school. This might be the case with Bess.
Short list: Michigan State, Kansas State, Michigan
Predicted college choice: Michigan (if they offer, Michigan State if they do not get commitments from Booker and or Bluiett)
If Michigan State can bring in Bluiett and Lourawls Nairn, who they already have a commitment from, it would be a good class. If Looney winds up going to Michigan State, it would be one of the best classes Michigan State has had. MSU fans should be excited about what the incoming players in 2014 could bring to the Spartans.
