The (1-4) Minnesota Vikings will face the (0-6) New York Giants this Monday night at MetLife Stadium. The Giants are of course still looking for their first win. The Minnesota Viking will be looking to straighten out and get back to competing in the standings. Both teams have a lot of issues to work out before this game on Monday and it might be a game of who makes the least mistakes. Both team have lots of turnovers and are struggling on defense. The Vikings also just signed quarterback Josh Freeman.
The key matchup for this game is the Giants defense against Adrian Peterson. Adrian Peterson is the reining NFL most valuable player. Last week Adrian Peterson did not have a good game and he has to struggle with the death of his son. Adrian Peterson might have a big game or a bad one, but the Giants have one of the worst run defenses. Adrian Peterson will have to carry the load with new quarterback Josh Freeman being limited in what pass plays are called.
The next key for this game is Josh Freeman and what he can do in his first time starting for the Vikings. He had some struggles down in Tampa Bay and was benched in favor of rookie Mike Glennon. Josh Freeman will be limited in what he can do. The Giants pass rush may have an advantage, and if the can cause a disruption with Freeman they may force bad passes.
This is probably the best chance for the Giants to their first win of the season. The biggest thing for them is to limit the turnovers, especially the fourth quarter turnovers. Eli Manning has to have a mistake free game for the Giants to pull this one out. Last week against Chicago they were able to make some adjustments to the running game. If they can get the ground game going that should relieve the pressure on Eli.
The Giants couldn’t have a more of an advantage in this game with a limited Freeman. If the Giants can play mistake free football they can win this. For the Viking its all about Adrian Peterson, and he has to carry the load. If he can run effectively and the Viking control the ball, the Vikings win the game. When its all said and done the Giants win this one 31-27.
