A pretty small line up in the NBA last night as only four games were played, one of them in China. Of those, two had a touch of carolina blue in them, so once again it is time to do what we call the “Heels in the Pro’s: NBA Style” recap. So, as you wait for the college football slate this afternoon, check out how the former UNC Basketball players did at the next level on 10/18/13…
The first of the two games for the night was the one played overseas, as the Los Angeles Lakers and the Golden State Warriors battled. The game was televised on NBATV and was played at the Mercedes=Benz Arena (Shangai) in front of a crowd that numbered 17,482. For what would be the home squad in this one we should have see small forward Harrison Barnes, however the second year pro is once again on the bench as he deals with a nagging foot injury. As far as the game was concerned, behind 15 made three pointers, it was Golden State defeating Los Angeles by 26, with the final score being 115 to 89. With the win the Warriors are now 3 and 2 and will be back in action on 10/23 when they head to Sac-Town to take on the Kings.
The other game of the night is about the other franchise from Tinsel Town as the Los Angeles Clippers host the Portland Trail Blazers. The game was played in front of a crowd of 14,849 at the STAPLES Center and was broadcasted on NBATV. For the home team it was former National Player of the Year Antawn Jamison, who came off the bench to play for 13 minutes. In that stint the power forward scored six points (2 for 6 ~ 1 for 2 ~ 1 for 2) to go with six rebounds, an assist, a stel and a pts differential of -4. The other former UNC Basketball on the franchis is shooting guard Reggie Bullock, but the rookie does not get on the hardwoods as he keeps battling his knee problems. In the end it was Portland taking this one, as they defeated Los Angeles by 10, with the final tally being 94 to 84. The loss slides the Clippers to 3 and 2 and the franchise will get back on the court against Ty Lawson and the Nuggets on 10/19.
That is it when it comes to the recap of 10/18/13. Not much as there were few games with a touch of carolina blue, but with a slate of four games with former UNC Basketball in them, a pair with former Heels on both sides, tomorrow’s recap will be a lot bigger. And as always, make sure to check back with ISPORTSWEB for more news and information about current and former teams and/or players.
