The Chicago Blackhawks have extended center Andrew Shaw through the 2015-2016 season. Shaw, who has four goals and 11 points on the season, was a key member of the Hawks’ championship team last season.
“It’s great to come to this agreement with Andrew and keep another important member of our team here in Chicago,” said Blackhawks VP and General Manager Stan Bowman in a statement. “Andrew has proven his ability to play a prominent role on our team and we look forward to watching him continue to grow as a player for the Blackhawks.”
Shaw is known for his toughness in front of the net and his scrappy play for the Blackhawks. The extension for Shaw and the Blackhawks give the team at least two more seasons of a strong presence in front of the net and a tough forward that the Hawks need.
