LeBron James has proven the last two games why he is the best player in the world. James scored a season-high of 39 points Friday night to lift the Heat past the Dallas Mavericks. Miami has won five straight games against the Mavericks since losing to them in the 2011 Finals. James scored 30 points last night against the Bobcats to lead the Heat to victory on back to back nights.
With Mario Chalmers suspended, Chris Bosh in foul trouble the past two games, and Dwyane Wade a non-factor, LeBron had to put the team on his back. To make the Heat problems even worse, Ray Allen has been out due to the flue so LeBron didn’t have a choice to be somewhat selfish and takeover. This is what LeBron needs to continue to do as much as he can. Even if Wade is healthy and Bosh is playing well, James needs to be in (LeBron mode).
LeBron mode is a mixture of the Cleveland Cavaliers LeBron, a little bit of Magic Johnson, and a small dose of Michael Jordan. All of this equals up to the LeBron James we get the joy of watching. Even when James is selfish, or in (LeBron mode), he still has seven or more assists. Even when he’s in (LeBron mode) he gets his team involved. In Cleveland LeBron didn’t have a choice to put up numbers because he was all they had. With Miami he has a lot of help and he takes advantage of it a lot but maybe he should start taking over a little more like he did when played for the Cavs?
These past two games he’s shown how he can do whatever he wants on the court. If he wants to post up he’ll post up and be dominant. If he wants to be the point guard he can take the ball down the court and feed his teammates the ball. If he wants to shoot three-pointers and deep shots he can do that. If he wants to catch alley-oops every other series he can do that. I can name things he can do all day but what does he have to do to get the Miami Heat Franchise their fourth title and himself his third?
James needs to be in (LeBron mode) for most of the season and throughout the entire post-season. I don’t doubt that Wade wont be there because he shows up when needed but if he isn’t there then LeBron will have no choice. If Chris Bosh doesn’t stay consistent then it’s vital that James stays in (LeBron mode). A dominant LeBron is a successful Miami Heat team and teams around the NBA know that. Teams don’t want him to be in (LeBron mode). They want him to look to pass first instead of taking the shot. As of now it looks like LeBron is in the state of mind that he has to take over the majority of the time if he wants his team to win. I love it, Miami Heat fans probably love it, and teams around the league fear it. The Heat face-off against the Atlanta Hawks Tuesday and I’m looking for LeBron to takeover once again.
