Duke basketball lands another top recruit

The Duke Blue Devils are having a great early recruiting period.  They have signed three of the top 15 players, and also got Grayson Allen signed to join the team next season.  This is the top recruiting class according to almost everyone, including ESPN.  This recruiting class could be Coach Mike Krzyzweski’s best ever.

Justise Winslow is the latest recruit to announce he will be attending Duke next year.  Winslow is a 6-foot-6 small forward, and at 218 pounds has great size for a wing.  He will only add to that size next season for the Duke basketball team.  He will be able to contribute right away at Duke and depending on who stays (or who leaves) he could be a starter next season.Justise Winslow

Winslow has an all around game–he is a good rebounder, passer, and defender.  He is very athletic and can run the floor with the best of them.  This team next season will be very fun to watch, but all of these top recruits will put a bulls eye on the Blue Devils’ back.

Due to this latest recruit, it won’t matter much who is staying or going, the Blue Devils will be the favorite for the National Championship next season.  They will again for next season have a great nucleus of young and experienced players.  This team with the great Coach Krzyzewski will be one of the best teams.

The Blue Devils have gotten four of the last five recruits that they had targeted, and getting the last recruit would put them in the same company as any recruiting class in the history of college basketball.

Winslow is a great pick up, and will be a part of a great freshman group next season.  Myles Turner would take this from the best recruiting class for Coach Krzyzewski to one of the best all time.  Turner has said that he could play with Jahlil Okafor, which could mean that he might enjoy playing with another great center.

The Blue Devils have filled all of the seniors’ spots that will be leaving after this season.  A great team this season will more than likely have players who leave early such as Jabari Parker and Rodney Hood.  If neither one leaves for the NBA, this could be the best team next season.  There is already speculation that Parker could want to stay at Duke one more season to play with Okafor, but this would be very unlikely with him being a top five pick in the NBA draft this season.

The Winslow signing is a great thing for the Blue Devils.  He will get a bunch of people talking about the Blue Devils for next season.  The team next season could be facing the same or even more pressure than the Kentucky Wildcats of this season.  No matter which players stay at Duke or goes in to the NBA Duke will be a great team to watch next season, and should make next season fun to watch.
