Milwaukee Bucks draft rumors

With the worst record in the NBA, the Milwaukee Bucks improve their chances of landing the number one pick with every loss.  Being 16 games under .500 with only a third of the season done, it looks like the Bucks have a chance to draft a franchise changing talent.

The Bucks have an interesting core of talent to build around.  With Larry Sanders and John Henson, the Bucks have the length to defend any team in the NBA.  Brandon Knight is starting to show his first round talent by shouldering the scoring load and running the Bucks’ offense.  I considered him a bench player at the start of the season but Khris Middleton is starting to come into his own.  He is starting to take the big shots at the end of the game and is producing in a starter’s role.

The Greek freak, Giannis Antetokounmpo is now a starter and giving Bucks’ fans hope that things will get better. Antetokounmpo is part of the young core that can lead the Bucks to the playoffs but the team lacks a bona fide star.

There are three freshmen that the Bucks should draft if they decide to go into the NBA draft.

The first freshman that has shown that he can be a potential star is Andrew Wiggins from the University of Kansas. The freshman guard is averaging 15.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.  Wiggins is a player that can change the pace of a game and take a potential game winning shot in crunch time.

Wiggins, Andrew

The next freshman that has super-star potential is Jabari Parker. Parker leads the Duke Blue Devils in points and rebounding.  He is able to shoot efficiently and score buckets at will it seems. Parker can do a lot on the floor; he can play down in the post or spread the floor and hit three-pointers.

The last freshman to consider is Kentucky forward Julius Randle.  Just like Parker, Randle leads his team in scoring and rebounding.  Randle has potential to become a low post monster in the NBA, with enough time he could develop into someone like Andre Drummond.

With the way the Bucks’ current roster is built, it seems that Andrew Wiggins may not fit the Bucks needs as they already have Antetokounmpo at guard and he will need playing time to turn into a star.

The Bucks should focus on acquiring a forward and have a front line of Parker or Randle, Henson and Sanders.  Parker and Randle are both a little undersized but with Henson and Sanders to protect the rim it shouldn’t be as big of a deal.

I think that the Bucks should draft Parker because he can stretch the floor and shoot three-pointers.  He has played for a big program, so the adjustment to a small market like Milwaukee shouldn’t be a factor.  What I like most about him is the fact that he can score, the Bucks lack players that can score efficiently.

Let’s face it. We have a chance at improving by leaps and bounds. Giannis is a diamond in the rough but a diamond just the same. We can’t put to much into the draft just yet because there is a race to the bottom going on but we ARE going to get a verrrrry good player for the future. Parker is number one on the list. Wiggins as a BIG guard. The young man from Austrailia would be great alongside Giannis. The center from Kansas, you can’t teach 7 feet with great feet. Randle can be a excellent PF. Along with this young core of players, the future looks bright.
