A tough stretch for Duke Blue Devils

Duke Blue devils are about to start a tough stretch of games in the coming week.  They have games at Pittsburgh and at Syracuse.  These are the two top teams in the ACC, and it will be a good challenge for Duke to see how far they have come.  This will be a week that will get them ready for the NCAA tournament.  These two games will be on the road, and against tough teams.  This will be a better test then any week in the NCAA tournament.

The Pittsburgh Panthers are a top twenty five team in the rankings this season.  It will be at Pittsburgh, and they have lost two really good teams.  Pittsburgh is a contender to win the ACC, and will be a tough team for Duke.  Pittsburgh is a tough defensive team, and it will be a great game against a great defense and a great offense.  They are a younger team, but they are playing well together.  They don’t have much size, which will help the Blue Devils, but with it being in Pittsburgh it won’t be an easy game for them. Rasheed Sulaimon

The game at Syracuse will be an even more difficult game for the Blue Devils.  Syracuse plays a tough 2-3 zone defense, and this will make Duke more of a jump shooting team.  Syracuse is undefeated, and one of the best teams in the country.  They are currently ranked number two, but could be the best team.  They are playing well together and their only real weakness was their point guard situation.  They lost Michael Carter Williams, a huge contributor, but Tyler Ennis has stepped up as a freshmen.  Ennis is one of the best freshmen, and has really played well.  He has made Syracuse a National Championship contender.

This will be a hard week for the Blue Devils; they will play two really good defensive teams.  They will have to have everyone come and be ready to play.  They will need their four best players to play at their highest levels in Jabari Parker, Rodney Hood, Quinn Cook, and Rasheed Sulaimon.  They are currently playing very well together, but it only takes one great defensive team to be taken out of a rhythm.  They will have to be ready to play both of these games; this will be one of the harder weeks for the Blue Devils.

Duke will be ready for these games, and will play well.  Neither would be easy, but to have them back to back is almost impossible to see anyone winning both.  This will be a hard week for the Blue Devils, but they should come out of it with one win, and an impressive win at that.  Beating either of these teams would be great, and it will be a big week for the Blue Devils.  The Blue Devils winning both games would be huge for positioning themselves for the NCAA tournament.
