WWE: Orton vs. Batista at WrestleMania, no thanks

The WrestleMania card is beginning to form and your WWE World Heavyweight Championship match is already been set. It’ll pit 2014 Royal Rumble winner Batista against current champion Randy Orton.

In the words of  The Miz, Really? …Really?

The Championship match at WrestleMania is supposed to be the best match on the card, maybe next to Undertaker’s match, but the championship match is of utmost importance and WWE’s decided to go with Orton defending against the newly returned Batista. This is match I’m pretty sure only Vince McMahon wants.

The WWE Universe has been very outspoken of their displeasure of Batista’s catapult to the top upon returning. Batista won the Royal Rumble match solidifying him a spot for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and the WWE Universe isn’t having it.

I attended the Royal Rumble in Pittsburgh and I can’t express to you how much of a sour taste was left in the mouth of the fans after Batista’s win.

Batista won and received a hurricane of boo’s and harassment.  It led to The Animal walking up the ramp, threatening to snap one obnoxious fan in half while throwing him the bird. Batista then stood at the top of the ramp and mocked Daniel Bryan’s (the overwhelming fan favorite at the Rumble) YES chant by throwing both his middle fingers in the air.

The fans don’t want Batista. He’s old news.

As for Orton, he isn’t bad. Orton’s still a great heel in this organization and personify a heel champion perfectly. He’s capable of putting on a great match at the big dance but since they’ve put him against Batista the whole match is just flat.

But now, after Friday’s taping of Smackdown (SPOILER ALERT) Batista cut a heel promo and beat up on Dolph Ziggler. It appears WWE has decided to turn Batista heel since he’s getting booed anyways.

This makes it interesting because now it’s heel against heel for the title at WrestleMania. WWE could convert Orton baby face in the near future.

WWE

The WWE Universe doesn’t want a match they had several times now just like they didn’t want to see Orton and John Cena for a one billionth time. Batista versus Orton has snooze fest written all over it. If this is the closing match of this year’s WrestleMania there’s going to be hell to pay.

So who does the WWE Universe want? Daniel Bryan?

YES! YES! YES!

The WWE continues to prologue giving Bryan the major push with the title. The angle with Kane trying to bring Bryan down looks to be over as Bryan successfully took down the Big Red Cooperate Machine on RAW but now it’s all in place for Bryan to chop the head off The Authority by facing Triple H at WrestleMania.

The fans want to see Bryan in the Championship match but they’ll have to settle for Triple H and Bryan at the premier pay-per-view.

The original plan called for CM Punk versus Triple H at WrestleMania but after Punk’s abrupt departure from the company (which remains to be seen if it’s a work or not) they decided to give the reigns to Bryan to tussle with Triple H.  This makes me wonder where Bryan would’ve fit in had Punk stayed put.

I can’t imagine Orton and Batitsta having any kind of impact on this WrestleMania, it’s not a good booking move and Batitsta’s immediate push wasn’t good either. Just plan to use this match as your restroom/snack/nap break.
