The Boston Celtics recently ended a fairly mediocre week of basketball games. In three games, Boston went 1-2, but even in those 2 losses they played their opponents very close and competitively. Those three games bring the Celtics to a 20-40 record which is a .333 winning percentage. With that record, the Boston Celtics remain to be the 4th worst team in the NBA; putting them in great position for a wonderful draft pick. Let’s now take a closer look at the three games the Celtics played this past week.

On Monday, February 24th the Celtics traveled to Utah to face the Jazz. In this game, Boston got into a hole early and would never quite catch up. Jeff Green contributed 21 points on yet another average shooting night. Kelly Olynyk would have one of his best games in his young career. Olynyk scored 21 points in this game to go along with 8 rebounds. Rajon Rondo would ink in yet another double-double. He would put up 18 points and 10 assists in a losing effort. Rondo went perfect from the free-throw line in this game, a fairly rare thing for him.

The Boston Celtics would then head back home to welcome the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday, February 26th. The game would back and forth throughout until the 4th quarter in which the Celtics would pull away to a 115-104 victory. Jerryd Bayless would have a fantastic shooting night tallying up 29 points. He would go 12-21 from the field including 5-8 from the 3-point line. Rajon Rondo would once again contribute a double-double in the win. He scored 22 points and distributed 11 assists. Jeff Green scored 17 points in the win as well.

On Saturday, March 1st the Celtics would host the Indiana Pacers, the best team in the Eastern Conference. Even in saying that, the Celtics would play the Pacers extremely close for the entirety of the game, but would come up short in a 102-97 loss. Jeff Green would score 27 points in yet another inefficient shooting night. Kris Humphries and Rajon Rondo would both put up double-doubles in a losing effort. Rondo scored 12 points and distributed 11 assists and Humphries scored 18 points and grabbed 10 boards. The Celtics’ next game is on Wednesday, March 2nd when they host the Splash Brothers of Klay Thompson and Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors.
