After releasing arguably the best TE in franchises history in Owen Daniels earlier this week. The Houston Texans have re-signed the player they consider the TE of the future, Garrett Graham. Graham’s deal is for 3 years. With a total worth of 11.25 million dollars. Graham is a 5 year veteran and was drafted by the Texans in the 2010 draft. And like former Texans TE Owen Daniels and Texans DE JJ Watt he went to the University of Wisconsin.
Graham was fairly productive last season catching 44 passes for 545 yards and 5 TDs. He was one of the few bright spots for a Texans team the finished 2-14. The Texans now have Graham, and free agent acquisition Zack Potter who was signed right after new head coach Bill O’Brien was hired. Graham should flourish here with the Texans. His skill set is perfect for what TE’s are asked to do in the league nowadays. Along with Graham the Texans should still be looking to sign another TE to solidify the position.
