In the spirit of March Madness, I have put together a bracket using my skills in Microsoft Word for the North American LCS spring split playoffs. Here is the bracket:
In order to help you out with your bracket, here is a little bit about each team going in.
Cloud 9 HyperX
Cloud 9 is coming in strong, with a large winning streak and another perfect super-week. Look for them to at least make it to the final, as they have had no trouble with either Coast or CLG so they should beat the winner of that game. They’d be a solid choice to win it all, and they are my choice.
TSM is on a down-slide, losing three games in the last two weeks. They’ve lost to CLG, XDG and Cloud 9. Lucky for them, Cloud 9 and CLG are on the other half of the bracket and XDG is awaiting relegation. They can still be a force to reckon with, as long as they adjust their game plan to the 4.4 patch.
Counter Logic Gaming
CLG has shown some promise at times and then has lost some games they shouldn’t have. They play tough against Cloud 9, have beaten TSM recently, handled most of the other teams, and then they lose a game to Curse. They ended the season with a 2-2 super-week, but I think they’ll be able to win the first round at least.
DIG has had really good games and really bad games. They’ve also had recent roster changes that have impacted their play. The addition of goldenglue (mid lane) has boosted their play, but they still have only gone 3-3 with him the last two weeks. They play Curse in round one, and they did just beat them week 11. To win again they need more solid play from Cruzer in the top lane.
Curse proved me wrong in week 11, as they won two games I thought they wouldn’t and lost one they shouldn’t have. They upset CLG and beat Coast, and then also lost to DIG and got upset by Evil Geniuses. They could be a surprise, but their match up with DIG in the first round could be a tossup.
Coast is a team that could easily beat any team with its talent in the top lane (ZionSpartan) and mid lane (Shiphtur), but hasn’t put together many team efforts to get wins. WildFujiiN (AD carry) did set the season high for kills in a game against DIG this week, and they’ll need more performances like that to move on in this tournament.
Want to win some bragging rights with your bracket? Fill it out and tweet a picture of it to me (@JVanderah20) with the hashtag #nalcsbracket and I’ll keep tabs of who wins! I’ll tweet to the winner(s) and mention them in the post-playoffs article.
