Detroit Red Wings: Top 10 goals of the 2013-14 season

Although the Detroit Red Wings’ season was cut short by the Boston Bruins in the 1st round of the NHL playoffs, they still provided Hockeytown with a plethora of highlight reel goals we will remember for a long time to come.

Here is a look back at the top 10 goals of the season.

World-class speed plus a goalie collision equals a stick and puck ending up in the back of the net while Darren Helm goes flying.

9. Gustav Nyquist (Assist: David Legwand)

April 2, 2014 Vs. Boston Bruins

More speed from a hot goal scorer plus a goliath of a defender coming in off a line change equals a burn to the Bruins’ defense and a rocking Joe Louis Arena.

8. Tomas Tatar (Assists: Riley Sheahan, Todd Bertuzzi)

January 11, 2014 @ Los Angeles Kings

A tied game late in 3rd period plus a goal from animated forward whose father passed away a day ago equals a heart-touching celebration.

7. Tomas Tatar (Assists: Brian Lashoff, Joakim Andersson)

Fancy moves plus a timely tumble equals the same animated forward wrapping home a goal against one of the best goalies in the NHL.

6. Niklas Kronwall (Assists: Henrik Zetterberg, Patrick Eaves)

5. Pavel Datsyuk (Assists: Henrik Zetterberg, Jakub Kindl)

The Magic Man plus a “Datsyukian deke” equals a beauty of a goal and a Usain Bolt celebration to the crowd.

Splitting the defense plus having the Stars colliding equals one of the best play-by-play calls of the season from Ken Daniels.

An odd man rush with seconds remaining in overtime plus another crazy bounce equals a March madness buzzer-beater against a bitter rival.

I got a little emotional watching these again. It was definitely a remarkable season. Can’t wait for next year.

From pure skill, definitely Dats’ goal wasn’t the best, but from importance it certainly was.

Also a shame that Nyquist is going up against Hertl in TSN’s POY.

Certainly a lot of luck in these goals, but we needed every bounce we could get.
