Connor Cook’s successful 2013 season has earned him preseason accolades in 2014.

What a difference a year makes.

A year ago Michigan State quarterback Connor Cook was fighting for playing time against senior Andrew Maxwell.

But after going 12-1 in 13 starts as a sophomore, throwing for 2755 yards, 22 touchdowns and only six interceptions en route to leading the Spartans to Big Ten and Rose Bowl championships, Cook, along with 38 other individuals, has been named to the the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award watch list.

And even though these watch lists mean next to nothing other than the fact that the players on them had a good season the year before and it’s expected they have another good season, being named to these lists definitely is not a bad thing.
