Cleveland Cavaliers: Kevin Love trade is official

Cleveland has been craving a championship for 50 years and this year might just end that drought.

One of the most talked about trades in the league is finally official. Kevin Love being traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers for No. 1 draft pick, Andrew Wiggins, who was sent to the Minnesota Timberwolves.  The Cavaliers might just be the top team in the East to contend with, if not the league.

They will not have to worry about many teams in the east, being as they have the best roster on paper. The Chicago Bulls will be a tough contender as they have Derrick Rose returning, as well as Taj Gibson, Joakim Noah, and newly added Pau Gasol. Other than that, the only other teams to contend with might be the Wizards, who recently added Paul Pierce to their lineup, and made a good run in 2013-2014 playoffs.

But with the addition of Love to the Cavaliers, it makes him, LeBron James and Kyrie Irving the new big three on the east coast.

Love brings an excellent amount of talent to the Cavaliers and the ability to be able to hit threes, rebound, and even play inside the paint, will help the team out tremendously and also take pressure off of James. Love also is used to being the leader of his team and having only one other star on the court with him, Ricky Rubio.

Now with James, Irving, Shawn Marion, Mike Miller, James Jones, and maybe even Ray Allen, Love will be surrounded by playoff experience.

But even with all of this firepower the Cavaliers will have to get their chemistry on point, which should not be hard for them at all. Most of the players have played with LeBron in the past with exception to Marion, Irving, and Love.

Offensive scoring won’t be the problem for them but the defensive end will be key in order for them to win a championship.

Lebron James did not waste anytime making Love feel at home by posting on his twitter account earlier, “Welcome to the Land (at) Kevin Love.”

LeBron also posted on his Instagram account two pictures of his new team and captioned it, “THE LAND”.

What will the season hold for the young Cavaliers team? We will have to wait and see as it will be an exciting year for all of the Cleveland land and fans. A championship is in the eyes of King James and he will not stop until he brings one to his home.
