When evaluating Michigan State last season under Mark Dantonio, some will draw comparisons to George Perles’ 1988 Rose Bowl team. Both teams were not expected to win the Big Ten. Both teams built their foundation on grit. Both teams were overlooked by the media. Both teams had a chip on their shoulder. But that’s where all comparisons end.
