There are only seven games on hand today with the Pirates-Rockies game being postponed. Tuesday was another good day in fantasy baseball, as two of the three players I recommended delivered. David Price went eight strong innings striking out 14 batters. Jose Abreu went 2-5 with an RBI. Today’s limited slate features only a handful of players I feel comfortable selecting. Below are three players I like in Thursday’s games:
Arrieta has been masterful this season. So far he is 4-0 with a 0.87 ERA. In his last start he threw a no hitter. Today he faces the Milwaukee Brewers. The majority of their best hitters are right handed and Arrieta does very well against right handed batters. There is literally no sane reason not to have the Arrieta on your roster today.
Machado is off to a great start this season. Tonight he faces lefty Jon Danks. On the season Danks is 0-3 with a 6.23 ERA. Danks has given up a homer in two of his three starts and doesn’t strike out batters often. Machado on the year is batting .325 with six home runs and eleven RBI. There is no doubt tonight that Machado will be free swinging tonight looking for his seventh bomb of the year.
The former Phillie is off to a solid start this season for the White Sox. He is batting .242 but has six doubles and been a great table starter for American League leading Chicago White Sox. Tonight the switch hitter is going up against Orioles righty Tyler Wilson. Wilson has pitched in four games this season, stating in one of them. In the game he started, he pitched five innings giving up six hits and three runs. Jimmy Rollins role has diminished as of late with White Sox manager Robin Ventura alternating starts between Rollins and Tyler Saladino. With Rollins getting the start today, I think he makes the most of it.
Those are my daily fantasy baseball picks. Check back tomorrow for more selections.
