Hello and welcome to the second last fantasy football preview for the 2016-2017 NFL season for the New England Patriots. As always this advice will be based upon a 12 man ESPN league with standard scoring and no ppr. Leave any questions or comments below.
This week the Patriots will be visited by the New York Jets following a tough game at Denver where they had exorcised their demons from their previous defeat at the hands of the Broncos in last year’s AFC championship game. The Jets look to be a much easier matchup, although the last time these two teams met in week 12, the Patriots only won 22-17 on a game-winning touchdown by Tom Brady to get his 200th career win. The Patriots will probably look to do similar to last matchup, though the Jets look particularly vulnerable following their loss to the Miami Dolphins in a game that made Matt Moore look like a MVP candidate.
This looks to probably be your semifinals or finals depending on the league you’re in so best of luck in your games!
Who to Start
Tom Brady – QB
Although he had missed the first four games of the season, Tom Brady has looker like the MVP with 22 touchdowns and two interceptions for the season, and although he had a tough game against the Broncos, who had shut down Brady and Cam Newton en route to a Super Bowl title last season, he looks to have a good game against the struggling Jets.
LeGarrette Blount – RB
The Patriots look to hit the Blount again as he set the team record for touchdowns in a season last game although he wasn’t the primary back. Look to New England to rely on Blount to grind out yards against the Jets to secure home-field advantage in the playoffs.
Julian Edelman – WR
Edelman continues to be Brady’s favorite receiver and looks to continue being the number one receiver, even if the league does not count receptions, he picks up a lot of yards and also scores touchdowns.
