While most of the European championships do not have games during the Christmas break, soccer fans all over the world wait for the Boxing Day – the series of the Premier League games through Dec. 26 to Jan. 4 when the clubs have to play three games in 10 days.
Strategically, the Boxing Day is an important period for the clubs who have a chance to improve their standing in the Premier League. Especially it refers to the clubs fighting for the title and the clubs located at the bottom of the Premier League table. Those, who are not ready for the Boxing Day, will lose the points and decrease the chances to solve their Premier League objectives.
So far, Chelsea are at the top of the Premier table with six points ahead of Liverpool and seven points ahead of Manchester City. If Chelsea, after 11 winning games in a row, lose points, Liverpool and City will get a chance to approach Antonio Conte’s club. However, if Chelsea wins all games within the next 10 day, the club from London will boost its chances to win the title.

Compared to Liverpool, Chelsea’s calendar within the next 10 days is not so compacted, which is beneficial for club from London. Liverpool will play all three games in seven days, so it is important for the Reds to be ready physically for this period. Another advantage for Chelsea is that Liverpool will face Manchester City during this period, which means a loss of points for one of the clubs.
Nevertheless, the Boxing Day is famous for its unpredictable results. The situation in the Premier League can change dramatically within the next 10 days, and those teams who rely on physical conditions can succeed.
