The Philadelphia 76ers will take on the Orlando Magic Monday night for the fourth time this season. The Magic currently hold a 2-1 lead over the Sixers in the season series.
After losing the first two games against the Magic by scores of 103-101 and 105-88, the Sixers fired back in the third matchup between the two as they beat the Magic 112-111.
The Sixers won that game all thanks to rookie sensation Dario Saric — he scored 26 points on 8/15 shooting off the bench. If they’d like a similar result Monday night, they’ll need more of the same from Saric.
The Magic come into Monday’s game having lost four of their last five games. However, in fairness to them, they did have to play the defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers and the 55-14 Golden State Warriors during that stretch.
The Sixers come into Monday’s game having won three of their last five games including a victory against the second-seeded Boston Celtics — and a should’ve-been-victory against the Warriors.
Monday night’s game provides the Sixers with a good opportunity to keep their forward momentum going and split the season series with the Magic. However, it also provides them with a chance to get back to their old ways — tanking — and get one loss closer to a top-three pick in June’s NBA Draft.
