Coming into the weekend, the Michigan State baseball team was reeling. After losing five consecutive contests ( home vs Western Michigan, Minnesota x3, and at Eastern Michigan), the Spartans were in a position where winning two out of three over the weekend against the Fresno State Bulldogs was imperative.
With NCAA postseason hopes falling into jeopardy and the weekend series against the Bulldogs being forced to move to Grand Rapids due to flooding at McLane Baseball Stadium, the Spartans faced the adversity and grabbed it by throat to the tune of a weekend sweep of Fresno State.
On Saturday Michigan State won both tilts against Fresno State in a doubleheader by the scores of 10-4 and 9-5.

With the three victories MSU moves to 18-10 overall this season while their conference record remains at 3-3. The Spartans currently sit in 7th place out of 13 teams in the Big Ten standings behind: Minnesota, Nebraska, Michigan, Maryland, Purdue, and Indiana.
After a road trip to South Bend for a game against Notre Dame on April 11, the Spartans will be back at a hopefully dry McLane Baseball Stadium for a weekend series against the Buckeyes of Ohio State on April 14-16.
