Philadelphia Eagles ink LeSean McCoy

The Philadelphia Eagles have signed pro-bowl running back LeSean McCoy to a five year extension worth $45 million. McCoy had just one year left on his rookie contract coming into this season, so the Eagles avoided any hold out drama by signing him now. With this signing, the Eagles have now locked up their two [...]

My Five Big Off-Season Questions for the Indianapolis Colts

Andrew Luck

1. How well will Andrew Luck and the new offense fair in year one of the post-Peyton era? To be perfectly honest, the answer to this question will most likely be “not well.” Gone are Joseph Addai, Dallas Clark, and Jeff Saturday, 3 huge components of Peyton Manning’s success the past decade, not to mention [...]

As almost all San Diego fans know, an improvement needed to be made to the Chargers pass rush this off season.  The front office addressed this on a few different fronts.  They drafted Melvin Ingram, the top rated pass rusher in the draft by many experts and teams, and Kendall Reyes, a versatile DT/DE [...]

Going into the 2012 NFL Draft, the Chargers had a handful of needs.  A few spots down the list was backup/change of pace running back.  The Chargers had the luxury of waiting until their final 7th round (250th overall) of the draft to grab a running back, Edwin Baker, out of Michigan State.  The job [...]

Breakdown of the Detroit Lions’ 2012 schedule

Calvin Johnson

In 2011, the Detroit Lions exceeded the expectations of many, starting the season 5-0 and eventually making the playoffs for the first time in a long time.  After the Lions’ first postseason appearance in 12 years, it is now my job to try and guess how this team will fare in 2012. Detroit returns almost [...]

Your Newest Pittsburgh Steelers: Where They Fit

Welcome to Pittsburgh, David DeCastro.

By all accounts, the 2012 draft was a success for the Pittsburgh Steelers.  Despite picking 24th, the Steelers were able to fill needs with picks that were actually great values that fell into their laps round after round.  The good fortune came at an opportune time for a Steelers’ team that had just purged numerous [...]

Will the real Mr. Relevant of the 2012 NFL draft please stand up; Five Stars recruiting at its best!

2012-nfl-draft-logo

This past week was a very special time for that entire collection of college football players who have officially either played their last down at the collegiate level due to the mere passage of time and exhaustion of NCAA eligibility, or those who elected to enter the draft prematurely in the hopes of reaching that [...]

Carolina Panthers: 2012 Draft Review

Luke Keuchly was the top pick for the Carolina Panthers in the 2012 NFL Draft

The Carolina Panthers addressed some big needs with their picks in the 2012 NFL Draft. With their first pick, they choose Boston College linebacker Luke Kuechly; their second pick was a huge offensive lineman from D-II Midwestern State, Amini Silatolu and their third pick was Oklahoma defensive end Frank Alexander. Analysists rated the Panthers’ draft from B to A-, but they certainly addressed major needs for the upcoming season.

Chicago Bears gear up after 2012 draft

Chicago Bears Logo

I’m long overdue to brush the dust from the end of 2011. The crushing end to the Chicago Bears’  football season left little to be said. Injuries and an unprepared second string left the Chicago Bears with few options. While it wasn’t the best season for the team, it wasn’t shameful, either. Lots of changes [...]
